| Pal International Succeeds at New Site 01/02/2008 | |
| Pal International, the Leicestershire-based manufacturer of wet wipes and hygiene work wear, has successfully relocated to a new 92,000sq.ft. site in Lutterworth as part of a £6 million investment programme into the company. The move of two manufacturing plants from Oadby and a Staffordshire warehouse back into the county took place over the summer months of 2007 and developments continue at the new site. After more than 35 years in Oadby, over 90% of Pal’s workforce has stayed with the company and a recruitment drive is on locally to find additional staff to increase manufacturing output. The new premises, brings together manufacturing, warehousing and office facilities for the first time in 25 years, and includes an 8000sq.ft. “clean-room” production area for the manufacture of disinfectant and other wet wipe products. Increased production capacity has been needed as sales growth has driven up demand for the growing range of specialist wet wipe products and new sales reflect Pal’s continuing commitment to exporting. “This is a multimillion pound investment in Leicestershire that will now give Pal the capacity to produce over 15 million wipes per month. This is in addition to the hygiene workwear products that have established Pal as a leading brand over many years. Growth in our Middle East and Asian markets is the next investment target.’’ (Richard Brucciani, Executive Chairman) “We face stiff international competition but manufacturing can still be a profitable and an exciting opportunity in Leicestershire.” (Richard Brucciani, Executive Chairman) | |
