History

Pal International began in the late 1960s by importing disposable headwear from the USA for the newly established fast-food industry.  Over the intervening 40 years, Pal International Limited has become an established UK manufacturing exporter, operating from Lutterworth, with markets throughout Europe, Middle East and Asia/Pacific.

Manufacturing of Food Service headwear began in the early 1970s as did the first exports to Europe. Continued development of purpose-built machinery allowed expansion of the product range with barrier protection workwear opening the market to Food Manufacturing and Healthcare.

Through the 1980s and 1990s expansion led to the move to larger premises in Oadby, Leicestershire and the acquisition of La Toque Blanche de Paris srl in France and Fibre Treatments Ltd in Burnley. This latter company brought the development of wipes into the Pal range as part of the move towards higher added-value products. Other improvements including BS 5750, Investors in People and EFSIS (European Food Safety Inspection Standard) were also achieved.

Rising quality standards boosted exports which led to the establishment of the Shanghai warehouse operation in 2003 and the Hong Kong office in 2005 to create an effective Asia/Pacific operation. This was supplemented in 2008 by the opening of the Dubai office, consolidating our position in the Middle East.

Continued growth in specialist wipes required additional space and Pal’s current premises were purchased in 2007. Located in Lutterworth on a seven acre site, the company now has over 90,000 sq.ft. of space for manufacturing and warehousing, with the addition of laboratories, chemical storage and mixing plant. These premises were further extended in 2011 to improve the office and welfare facilities.

Pal International Ltd has grown to become a medium sized company manufacturing disinfectant wipes, specialist wet-wipes and workwear for the food, pharmaceutical and healthcare markets worldwide.
